Both Beacons are involved in The Fund for the City of New York Beacon Academic Support and Enrichment (BASE) Initiative, funded by the Charles Hayden Foundation. BTW is receiving support through BASE to expand educational services and The Fund for the City of New York has asked Countee Cullen to participate as a mentor to developing Beacons. The Annie E. Casey Foundation has also asked Countee Cullen to serve as a demonstration site and provide technical assistance to communities interested in replicating the Beacon model around the country.
