At the April 6th groundbreaking ceremony: NYC Housing Authority Chairman John Rhea, HCZ Board Chairman Stanley Druckenmiller, former NYC Schools Chancellor Cathie Black, Mayor Mike Bloomberg, U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Shaun Donovan, Goldman Sachs President and COO Gary Cohn, two Promise Academy students, HCZ President Geoffrey Canada and Promise Academy Chairman Kenneth Langone.

Support Promise Neighborhoods!

Urge your legislators to fully fund the Promise Neighborhoods Initiative, which is a federal effort to replicate the Harlem Children's Zone model in cities across the country.

Last year hundreds of organizations joined us in supporting President Obama's Promise Neighborhoods program. Along with our colleagues at PolicyLink and The Center for the Study of Social Policy and the United Neighborhood Centers of America, we are urging Congress to support the President's request for $150 million for the program in the coming fiscal year.
