Urge your legislators to fully fund the Promise Neighborhoods Initiative, which is a federal effort to replicate the Harlem Children's Zone model in cities across the country.
Last year hundreds of organizations joined us in supporting President Obama's Promise Neighborhoods program. Along with our colleagues at PolicyLink and The Center for the Study of Social Policy and the United Neighborhood Centers of America, we are urging Congress to support the President's request for $150 million for the program in the coming fiscal year.

Musician Prince Announces $1 million HCZ Donation

During a recent press conference, musician and performer Prince announced that he would be giving $1 million to Harlem Children’s Zone.
“We are honored that Prince is teaching our kids how to dream big and work hard to make those dreams a reality,” said HCZ President/CEO Geoffrey Canada who attended the press conference along with thirty Promise Academy students.
The announcement was made just before the conclusion of the first leg of Prince’s “Welcome 2 America” tour. Afterwards, the Grammy winner met with the PA students.
